Meet Madison! She is a senior at E.C. Glass High School and one of my Senior Representatives for the Class of 2012. Madison is a delight to work with. Her personality matches her beauty and I love her kind and gentle spirit. Since she is considering attending Lynchburg College after high school, we decided to spend some time exploring the campus. Life Imitates Art

  Growing up, my mom and stepdad both worked for the telephone company and every few years contract negotiations would come up between their union (Communication Workers of America) and the company. I learned about strikes and scabs, and how to pinch pennies while they walked the picket line. When I decided to create photographs for a series called "Looking Out for the Little Guy" I couldn't help but include this childhood memory. CWA is striking again...this time for health care benefits, and I could not resist photographing some of our local phone guys standing up for what they believe in.
